Who we are

Thailand’s energy consumption is growing an estimated 2.67% per year with a minimum growth of 75% within the next two decades. It is the second largest energy consumer in ASEAN, but is currently dependent on oil imports and a large but limited supply of natural gas. With a rapidly growing population and urbanization, a huge tourist industry, as well as a large industrial sector and expanding urban transportation infrastructure (which account for 36% of the total energy consumption), Thailand’s Power Development Plan recognizes that self-sufficient, alternative energy is an essential ingredient for the future. Thailand aims at a 25 – 30% increase in reliance on renewable energy sources by the year 2021. Standard Power Company is a part of making this happen. Waste To Energy power is a significant step in transforming the energy use of the country, deriving power from a renewable source that improves our environment and the quality of life in Thai communities. While it is estimated that more than half the waste produced in Thailand each day could be used for energy or recycling, as of yet less than 4% of it is. We are going to change that.

Siam Power Co., Ltd. was founded after years of careful and considerate planning, in a joint venture with TPC Power Holdings Public Company Limited, which owns 50% of the capital. This partnership has allowed us bring together our expertise in alternative energy and ensure a straight path to our goals for communities in Thailand and the world. In May of 2015, Siam Power received a concession of land from the Provincial Administrative Organization (PAO) of Thailand in Nonthaburi province, a suburb just north of Bangkok. The project will be finished and is expected to be up and running by early 2017.
